L3 Extended Family

Loyal Liam Loonies

Loyal Liam Loonies Extended Family

Fans who call this site "home" are known as the Loyal Liam Loonies (L3s). Many of us have taken trips to meet each other and see Liam on stage together or attend a festival together . . . in our way, we're family! And on some of these family events, we've met some really nice and extremely talented people who have now become part of our extended family. Some of them are shown below and we hope you'll visit their sites and reference pages!

Dermot Bolger
The webmistress of this site owes a great debt to Dermot Bolger! He graciously provided me with the first major piece of information on Liam's career that I ever had, which you can still find on this page about Dermot's first play as an author and Liam's first play as a professional actor, The Lament for Arthur Cleary. The Loyal Liam Loonies are eternally grateful to Dermot for one other work - the radio play version of Ladies Night at Finbar's Hotel. If you hear it, you'll understand when I say Liam's fans get a particular chuckle out of this. The official site isn't really official - it's a very good Wikipedia article with a list of some of the banquet of poetry, plays, and novels Dermot has written for us to enjoy!

Dawn Bradfield
L3s have had the great pleasure of seeing Dawn on stage and meeting her on several occasions - during the run of The Cavalcaders and Poor Beast in the Rain, as well as viewing her on film with Liam in Sweety Barrett and Rebel Heart. Attractive, charming, talented, and works often with Liam . . . some woman have all the luck!

Orla Brady
Orla has been Liam's co-star several times, with the most notable for fans being her role as Sheila Clooney in A Love Divided, for which she was nominated for the Irish Film and TV Academy's Best Actress award and won the Monte Carlo Film Festival's Best Actress award in 1999. In 2005, she was named the Irish Tattler's Woman of the Year for Drama. As of this writing, Orla and Liam have also done a commercial for Furstenberg beer and a short film, Last Night, together. She's extremely talented as well as extremely beautiful.

Stephen Brennan
The only project we know of to date that Liam and the higly acclaimed theater actor, Stephen Brennan, have done was when Stephen starred in the 1990s Dublin revival of Rocky Horror and Liam was in the chorus. Liam was due to take the role over for Stephen, but the show closed before that happened. Some of the Loyal Liam Loonies got to meet Stephen at The Gate Theatre during the run of Poor Beast in the Rain in April 2005. Many of us have also seen him on television as Enda in Ballykissangel. It was a treat to get to meet one of the truly great stage actors of our time!

Ingrid Craigie
Ingrid Craigie has an enviable theater career with stellar performances in plays staged in Dublin, London, Broadway, and elsewhere. She has also co-starred in such noteworthy films as The Dead and Circle of Friends. Liam fans who traveled to London to see The Cavalcaders in 2002 were fortunate enough to see her perform her magic on stage in the role of Breda and as Molly in the filmed version of their 1994 production of Poor Beast in the Rain.

Andrea Irvine
Several of the Loyal Liam Loonies got to meet Andrea during the run of Poor Beast in the Rain at The Gate Theatre in Dublin in April 2005. Ms. Irvine is an accomplished and versatile stage actress who has appeared on Dublin, London, and New York stages throughout her career. Besides her work in the theatre, Ms. Irvine's CV includes a TV series and several cinema released movies, such as Evelyn and The Boxer.

Garrett Keogh
Garrett Keogh is best known to Liam Cunningham fans for his portrayal of the politician, Jimmy Kennedy, in A Love Divided. He also has a recurring role in The Clinic, although he hasn't yet been in any of the episodes we've seen that were directed by Liam. It was a real treat for some of the Loyal Liam Loonies to get to meet and talk to Garrett during the run of Poor Beast in the Rain at the Gate Theatre in April 2005. Garrett is a terrific actor, as well as director - and he also has choreographer on his CV!

Laurence Kinlan
Extremely talented, great personality, and cute too - there's little doubt that Laurence Kinlan has got a great career ahead of him! Some of the Loyal Liam Loonies met Laurence at the The Gate's run of Poor Beast in the Rain and either wished they were younger or that they had a daughter the right age for him . . . one or two might have wished something else, but we won't go there!

Billy Roche
L3s have twice been treated to either meeting Billy Roche or enjoying the fruits of his labor - during the runs of the Tricycle Theatre's production of The Cavalcaders and The Gate's production of Poor Beast in the Rain. Liam also performed in the Bush Theatre's production of Poor Beast in the Rain in London, which was also made into a teleplay for the BBC. There isn't one site that puts together all of Billy's work as an author, actor, and songwriter, but the three below cover as much as possible! The "Official Site"below isn't exactly that, but it is a place to learn more info on Billy's work.

Andrew Scott
Andrew Scott has already racked up some impressive awards in his young career, including an Olivier in 2005 for Outstanding Achievement or Performance in an Affiliate Theatre for his performance in A Girl in a Car With a Man and the Irish Film and Television Awards 2003 Best Actor award for his work in Dead Bodies. Liam fans know him as the kind innkeeper in Sweety Barrett and many of us got to meet him when he appeared on stage in London in 2002 with Liam in The Cavalcaders. There's no question this is an actor to keep an eye on for great performances for many years to come!

Don Wycherley
In Don Wycherley's first professional acting role, he co-starred with Liam on stage in Away Alone (1990). As of this writing, they have also co-starred in the television comedy Showbands and on stage in The Gate's Poor Beast in the Rain. During the run of the latter, the Loyal Liam Loonies who were fortunate enough to get to go to Dublin for the play got to meet Don - and needless to say, he charmed us all! We're all still Loyal Liam Loonies, but we're also a pretty loony about Don too! Check out Don's official website . . .
